Ellen Latham M.S.

Ellen is the owner of Ellen's Ultimate Workout and has had a lifelong passion for health and fitness. With a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology earned from the University of Buffalo in New York, Ellen has been motivating and training clients over 35 years. She was inspired by her father (Arthur Calandrelli) a very popular Physical Education teacher and coach in Niagara Falls, New York. Earning titles such as Business Woman Of The Year, Ellen has worked at the prestigious Bonaventure Spa in the day when it was the main fitness retreat for the stars as well as managed Williams Island Spa and The Eden Roc Spa on South Beach.


Her remarkable career experience includes acting as Channel 7's Fitness Expert for 6 years and writing fitness columns for The Miami Herald and The Sunsentinel.

It was through Ellen's position as Fitness Editor Of Women's Fitness Magazine that she started focusing on Pilates and opened the first group equipment based Pilates studio in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Ellen's desire to be on the cutting edge has resulted in her designing her signature workout THE ULTIMATE WORKOUT......... KNOWN AS THE NEW CARDIO AND WEIGHT RAINING PROGRAM IN THE U.S.

This workout has been chosen to be franchised across the country with the first studio opening March 2010.

Casey Librizzi

Education and Experience:
Casey has been working in the fitness industry for almost fifteen years and has been working with Ellen for the last ten years.  Casey is not only the manager of Ellen's but she also teaches a variety of fitness classes including Spinning, Pilates and the Ultimate Workout. Casey is a dedicated professional with a track record of exceeding goals and standards.  She possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and works well with diverse individuals.  By combining key principles and movements from the various disciplines she delivers a unique and multi-faceted system of fitness and training which delivers dramatic results and helps keep people motivated. Casey is a self-driven, highly dedicated professional who is a great asset to the fitness industry, the people who work around her and herself.  "The No-Fail" attitude she possesses is exciting and completely infectious.

Teaching at Ellen's:  Short of owning my own studio, I cannot imagine working anywhere else.  There is no person more highly trained and educated than Ellen.  I love that I can always count on Ellen to keep up with her fitness education in an industry that is constantly changing.

My interest in fitness and health began 14 years ago. I incorporate my methods of positive thinking , and motivational techniques , which have inspired many people and have changed there lives by promoting a healthier lifestyle. After working with numerous clients and educating them on the benefits of being physically active I found there was still a need for developing lifestyle changes with a foundation based on healthier eating habits. From this realization my Food Coaching Program evolved.  The Food Coaching Program illustrates and educates people on how permanent weight loss and the development of healthier eating habits are most effectively brought about through a dedicated change in lifestyle and changing old habits. Food Coaching guides you to look at long term , keeps you motivated and makes you understand there are no quick fixes only long term success. My goal is to positively influence people to have an enriching relationship with  food and physical activity to make lifestyle changes a permanent way of living , so eventually these small successes will have a global effect.

I look forward to meeting you, we will accomplish a great deal of success!

Marilyn Zlatkin

I have been spinning for 12 Years and I've been a spinning instructor for 7 Years. Marilyn is also certified in Pilates and oversees the one on one Pilates personal training at the studio.

I love teaching at Ellen's! Ellen's Passion for life and fitness is very contagious! It all starts with the awesome women who work the front desk, to the terrific instructors who teach here to the incredible clients that come here. They are all very special!

 

I am motivated by the desire to help others. I want to be able to play an important role in their lives by encouraging them to keep fit and to stay healthy. I have learned from being in the medical field and from working with Ellen for many years that exercise is the best medicine. It is great for your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It is an incredible feeling! So Empowering! You will be able to handle anything thrown your way in the course of your day if you start it out in this healthy Way!  I hope that everyone reading this has experienced this or is at least willing to give it a try. Bryan Spellberg

Education and Experience:
Bryan Spellberg, is a dedicated and competitive triathlete, biker and runner who has taken his love of endurance sports and applied it to helping other athletes and exercise enthusiasts improve their fitness through learning and applying heart rate based training. Bryan is a graduate of the University of Florida and spent 10 years in the business world before leaving to pursue his passion...helping people to reach their fitness goals by training smart and living healthy. He has been a sponsored Team Polar endurance athlete that competes in running and triathlon races of all distances from 5ks to the full 140.6 mile Ironman. Bryan has been trained by the Polar Heart Rate Company to utilize their technology and products to conduct heart rate based testing which tells you your individualized heart rate zones. Bryan prides himself on incorporating heart rate based training into all of his classes and training programs. Knowing your heart rate zones allows you to truly "listen to your body" during training and enables you to reach your fitness goals.

Octavia Johnson

Octavia Johnson, is one of the top trainers in the S. Florida area.  With over 11 years of experience, she brings dynamic workouts that target healthy body changes.  Prior to joining Ellen's team she worked for a large fitness corporation, where she supervised the Pilates department for their S. Florida locations, as well as managed several of their Aerobic Studios.  She graduated from the University of Central Florida, and was a cheerleader for their football and basketball teams (which you can probably tell as soon as you meet her). 

When it comes to her clients, Octavia tries to listen and take the time to understand their personal goals and desires.  She feels that having the opportunity to help others improve their health and lives through Pilates and other forms of working out, makes her truly love what she does for a living.  Along with being a Fitness Trainer, Octavia also see herself as a motivator and self-esteem builder, providing her clientele with fun, yet effective workouts that not only create change in their bodies but change in their hearts and soul that will last a life-time!!

Bonnie Schwartzberg

I have been involved in athletics since high school where I was on the swim team, softball team, as well as a soccer player. I thrive on competition and always strive to push myself harder. I am always amazed at what exercise and training can do to change your body.

I began my adventure at Ellen's 5 years ago as a client. I loved participating in Pilates and Spinning so much, and found myself always taking classes. I decided to get certified to educate and motivate others to levels they thought they could never achieve!

Philosophy:

The hardest part is getting out of bed and driving to work out. The adrenaline you feel afterward, now that is the reward!

Jen Mirk Schaet

Jen has been a fitness and sports enthusiast her entire life and a client of Ellen's Pilates for over 8 yrs. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she has always put fashion and fitness at the forefront of her life. When she decided she wanted to make Pilates a full time career she headed back to New York City's Pilates on Fifth, (Pilates Academy International), where she trained with owners Katherine and Kimberly Corp, former New York City Rockettes. While there she also learned about their extreme rebounding workout, CARDIOLATES, and is currently the only certified instructor here in South Florida. Jen has recently brought the Ultimate Ballet Barre to Ellen's studio, an intense full body sculpting, toning and challenging workout based around a ballet barre. Leave your Tutu's at home, this workout is no joke!

Beth Leboff

Beth has always had a passion for sports and physical  fitness.  Growing up in Montreal, Canada, Beth competed at an early age in downhill snow skiing.  She later became a competitive barefoot water-skier and represented Canada on it's National Water-ski Team.  Beth's waterskiing career spans over five years and produced many titles and awards.  Most significantly, she became a world champion by winning a gold medal at the Barefoot World Championships.  Beth is now a local trial attorney, but her passion for fitness has continued.  Beth's background, education and experience make her a perfect fit with Ellen's group of premier Pilates instructors. As a Pilates instructor,  Beth is motivated to pass along her knowledge of Pilates and its benefits including; body awareness, strengthening, core control, and overall body alignment.

Jennifer Bluth

Jennifer is a certified Pilates Instructor in Reformer, Mat, Chair and Ladder Barrel.  With a background in personal growth, she brings to Pilates a very individualized experience.  Introduced to Pilates as a student of Ellen's 9 years ago, Jennifer found a fitness program that was as good for the body as it was for the mind.  Working with individuals with varying abilities and limitations, Jennifer is able to modify the workouts to meet each individuals needs.  Many of her clients start out in private one on one training but, quickly move into the faster paced group classes.  Jennifer has been a teacher at Ellen's for over one year.  Jennifer prides herself on preparing her clients by teaching proper form, function and breath

I believe that we are all born with a kernel of greatness.  Each experience in life awakens us to our greater potential.  We must continue to challenge the mind, body and spirit to become our greatest self.

John Driscoll

John who is Nationally Certified by ACE, (American Council on Exercise) became very active in fitness 25 years ago when he became a 3rd degree black belt in Kenpo Karate. The discipline John received from his martial arts training continued into other areas of fitness. Since then, John has been an avid triathlete and a competitor among many levels. John specializes in motivating and developing clients of all ages to reach their maximum fitness level. While working with clients, John develops "short and long" term fitness goals that enhances self motivation.  John believes that "motivation" is the key component to healthy lifestyle. During the past several years, John has also worked with athletic kids in developing: strength, power, agility while maintaining flexibility to their individual sports. John's preference in training is: interval/metabolic training.

Cory Pickert

On his way to playing professional football, an injury in college made him shift his professional goals to fitness.  Getting certified by the top fitness schools and specialized certifications in suspension straps and kettle bells Cory's routines on the Ultimate floor have been taught with fantastic precision.  With about 1,000 success stories under his belt he teaches the Ultimate like you are an athlete in training.

Philosophy:
"The only difference between a professional athlete and a personal athlete is the fact that a personal athlete does not get paid."
